APPLICATION INFORMATION FOR OWNERS OF CATHEDRAL VILLAGE PROPERTIES

THE CATHEDRAL VILLAGE CULTURAL TRAILWAY
Initiated as a grassroots arts project for the 2016 Cathedral Village Arts Festival and now managed by Heritage Regina, the Cathedral Village Cultural Trailway offers a self-guided tour of some of the historically, culturally and architecturally significant sites still existing in the neighbourhood. Through the use of tour brochures, mobile-friendly audio commentary and informational signage, the trailway connects members of the Cathedral community to their neighbourhood, and introduces visitors to the cultural heritage that makes the area engaging and unique.

COMMON QUESTIONS

How do I add my Cathedral Village property to the trailway tour?
Simply complete the application form and submit it to Heritage Regina (info@heritageregina.ca). A representative from Heritage Regina will contact you to gather more information about your property.

By submitting my application, am I committed to adding my property to the trailway?
No, the application is an expression of interest. Submitting the form does not mean your property will be automatically added to the trailway.

Do I have to research my own property?
Although it is very helpful if property owners already have documented research about their property, Heritage Regina will also research the historical and/or cultural heritage of the property.

Is there any cost to having my property as part of the trailway?
There is a $100 fee for owners of properties that are part of the tour. This covers a portion of the cost of the informational signage.

What does the informational signage look like and how will it be displayed at my property?
Designed and produced by Cathedral area artists, the signage consists of a ceramic tile inside a metal frame. For homes, the signage is attached to a metal stand which is secured in the ground near the property’s city sidewalk. Businesses generally install the signage directly on the building, although the signage may be installed on a metal stand in front of the business, if necessary.
